Welcome to the University of Zimbabwe Central Administration Information Technology Department, the Department that develops, deploys and supports comprehensive computer systems for the universal administrative needs of the University.

Information Technology (Administration) provides services to departments mainly to the University administrators who are faced with complex and often unprecedented demands. Apart from the administration of students, staff, finances and other resources that are the lifeline of the UZ, they also need to provide accurate, reliable and up-to-date information on all these areas to a diverse stakeholder public e.g. Government, Auditors, Donors etc.

The IT department plays a very crucial role in providing essential support and maintenance services to the administration information systems. The administration information system consists of the following software modules developed in-house as independent sub-systems but all operating on one integrated relational database :

• Registration
• Examinations
• Accounting
• Facilities management e.g. Accommodation
• Finance Administration
• Human Resources, and
• Payroll.
