Mission Statement:

The Faculty Of Agriculture's Mission is to contribute to the improvement of food security, incomess and general welfare of all peoples of Zimbabwe and the SADC region through the provision of high quality training, research and outreach activities to the agricultural and natural resources sectors.

Vision:

The Faculty's vision is to be amoung regional and international leaders in research , training and provision of policy-related information in the Food, Agriculture and Natural Resourses sectors

Goals

1. Target Faculty's programmes to high priority issues facing agriculture, natural resources and food sector at large.
2. To hold regular consultationswith all stakeholders in the design of curricula, research and outreach programmes to increase their relevance.
3. To forge new and existing collaborative linkages with local, regional and international institutions.
4. To expand the budgetary resources to support faculty programmes through development of research projects that facilitate acquisition of capital resources (including physical infrastructure), soliciting for postgraduate scholarships and offering short-term courses at market rates.
   
   Broad Strategies

1. To generate and disseminate new knowledge and to produce new technologies and improve existing ones to enhance agricultural productivity whilst protecting the natural resource base through basic, applied and adaptive research that is responsive to the needs of the agricultural sector stakeholders
2. To improve achieved standards in teaching at both undergraduate and post-graduate levels through curricula reviews in consultation with all stakeholders.
3. To play a pro-active role in the identification of and addressing high priority agricultural research requiurements in Zimbabwe, especially those relevent to smallholder farmers and rural communities.
4. To make a substantial contribution to the development and dissemination of new and relevant agricultural knowledge.
5. To widely participate in activities of organizations and institutions involved in agriculture and environment issues.
