Msc Programme

The Department of Civil Engineering runs a four-year honours degree course. The programme's main objective is to produce competitive graduates for employment in  the industry.

Civil Engineering is a  four-year programme  and  includes an integration of engineering principles in the first 3 years of the syllabi.  This gives the student an appreciation of the constraints placed on a material during service.  The 4th and final year introduces an element of specialization through the choice of course options.
With this kind of background, it is hoped that the student will fit well into the Civil and   Manufacturing sectors upon graduation.  Our courses and curricula are designed and run in consultation with the local industry and so it is also hoped that the graduate will provide vital service in the Zimbabwean industries.
Our programme, therefore, encourages that the department has links with the industry in achieving this task of producing an industry oriented graduate engineer. Our links with the industry are via:

(i) Students technical visits
(ii) Students attachments
(iii) Students projects
(iv) Consultancy services
(v) Students sponsorships.
