The Department of Radiology, College of Health Sciences, University of Zimbabwe runs two undergraduate programmes in Radiography (Diagnostic and Therapeutic) and one postgraduate programme in Radiotherapy and Oncology. The Department is also involved in the teaching of Diagnostic Radiology and Radiotherapy and Oncology across all other medical disciplines in the College of Health Sciences.
There are 62 undergraduate and 8 postgraduate students.
The Department of Radiology provides outstanding world class teaching in the above programmes and clinical services in X-ray and Radiotherapy and Oncology Departments. The Department is also involved in multicentre – African Regional clinical trials to develop a regional evidence base in the management of cancers.
The Associate Status of the School of Radiography, Parirenyatwa Hospital, Harare is administered by the Department of Radiology. The school runs two Diploma programmes in Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiography.
To produce experts in Diagnostic Radiology, Radiotherapy and Oncology and Radiography capable of serving Zimbabwe and beyond.
To be the regional hub of excellence for training Radiotherapists/Oncologists, Diagnostic Radiologists and Radiographers.
