Dr Noah Ariel Mutongoreni
A holder of Doctor of Public Administration (Fort Hare, 2015), Master of Public Sector Management (Africa University, 2008), BSc. Honours in Politics and Administration (UZ, 1999) degrees and a University of Zimbabwe Postgraduate Diploma in Conciliation and Arbitration (2004), Dr Mutongoreni has more than 15 years of professional and leadership experience to the University.
His professional career in the public and university sectors started in 2001 when he joined the Public Service Commission as an Administrative Officer, and later as a Deputy Manager in charge of the Human Resources portfolio. He left the Public Service Commission in 2008 upon joining Africa University as the institution’s Head of Human Resources and Administration. While in the employ of Africa University, he also served as Director of Works (2010) and later as Acting Registrar. As Acting Registrar, he was responsible for:
• Administration of the University’s Human Resources;
• Works and Estates Administration and Management;
• Administration of University Security Services;
• Academic Affairs, including recruitment of national and international students,
examinations and records administration and management;
• Administration of University Communications.
In April 2014, Dr Mutongoreni was appointed Deputy Registrar, Human Resources at the Harare Institute of Technology, a post he relinquished upon appointment as the new University of Zimbabwe Registrar.
