The Department of Pharmacology is one of the pre-clinical and clinical science departments that form part of the University’s Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and is focused on basic life sciences research, traditional medicine research and undergraduate teaching for medical, pharmacy, rehabilitation, nursing science, physiotherapy and biomedical sciences students and the training and development of graduate students.
Teaching
Academic staff in the Department lead lectures and tutorials for undergraduate students on the Medicine, Pharmacy, Rehabilitation, Physiotherapy, Nursing Science and Biomedical Sciences courses. The Department also hosts a one-year MSc taught course in Pharmacology

- Traditional medicine zooming in on diabetes, hypertension and cancer
- Epidemiology of non-communicable diseases
