First year courses for both HAD and HPOS taken at first and second semester

PA101    Introduction to Public Administration (double course, 24 units). The course covers survey in the field of public administration, its aim is to provide an overview and introduction to the major issues and complexities in the field of public administration.

PA102    Introduction to Political Theory (double course, 24 units):   The course covers fundamental questions of public life addressing issues of nature of political authority. It also covers fundamental questions in political thought.

PA103    Introduction to Political Science (double course, 24 units). The course covers discipline of Political Science and the study of the complex and complicated human activities and relationships that are politically relevant.

AD103    Introduction to Research Methods (double course, 24 units). The course covers Political Science and Public Administration relevant to research methods, statistics to social and political problems

AD201    Public Policy: The course covers policy in the public administration domain; relationships among public problems and public policies

AD204    Human Resources Management: The course covers wide scope on aspects of human resources management, develop competency in human resources management.

 

Second Year Core at 2nd Semester in HAD

AD202    Policy Formulation and Analysis: The course covers environmental factors which influence policy systems.

AD205    Politics and Local Governance: The course covers historical development of Zimbabwe’s Local Government.

AD206   Public Personnel Administration: The course’s aim is to familiarize students with theoretical dimensions of public personnel administration.

 

Second Year Core courses at 1st semester in HPOS

POS201 Governance in Zimbabwe: This course is designed to familiarise the student with details of how Zimbabwe is governed.

POS211 International Relations: The course has multi-dimensional study of international relations, examines the nature of relations between and among actors in the contemporary international system.

POS220 Democracy and Human Rights: The course focuses on the major tenets of “Democracy” and “Human Rights”.

 

Second Year Core courses at 2nd Semester HPOS

POS202 State Politics and Society in Zimbabwe: The course covers analytical rights, governance and civil society organization.

POS203 International Organisation: The course analyses various international organizations, economical or political in major international organization such as UN, World Trade Organizations and countries in the Commonwealth.

POS204 African Political Ideas:  The course covers principal themes of African Political ideas ands political action.
