Qualifications: M.Sc in Counselling psychology at Great Zimbabwe university, B.Sc. Honours in Psychology at University of Zimbabwe, Certificate of Trauma Informed Care, Certificate in Palliative care with Island hospice.
Bio: A versatile hardworking, creative and conscientious individual with extensive knowledge in counselling psychology. Mr. Hasan Simani has an undergraduate degree in Psychology University of Zimbabwe, a master’s in counselling psychology from Great Zimbabwe University. Prior to becoming temporary full-time lecturer at University of Zimbabwe, Mr. Simani worked as an Intern counselling psychologist at Crisis support center at Parirenyatwa group of hospital. Mr. Simani has a wealth of practical experience in the following areas:
- Counsel individuals, groups, families, or communities regarding issues including mental health, poverty, unemployment, substance abuse, physical abuse, rehabilitation, social adjustment, child care, or medical care.
- Select, administer, and interpret psychological tests to assess intelligence, aptitudes, abilities, or interests
- Identify psychological, emotional, or behavioral issues and diagnose disorders, using information obtained from interviews, tests, records, and reference materials.
Additionally, He plans to earn a PhD over the next 2 years, to become a noteworthy professional.
Research interests: Psycho-social challenges of displaced communities and their coping strategies, Stress management techniques, Substance abuse, Depression, Disaster management
