The Chemistry Department is one of the original departments in the Faculty of Science at the University of Zimbabwe, founded in 1957. It offers a comprehensive collection of courses at the Undergraduate level, and a range of programmes at Postgraduate level. The Department has a broad research equipment base, being relatively well equipped with a variety of equipment and facilities, and the Department is active in providing extension and consultation services throughout various sectors of the society.
