Vision

The vision of the Department of Civil Engineering is to be a centre of excellence in the dissemination of knowledge and practice of civil engineering locally, regionally and internationally.

Mission

-To endeavour for the delivery and provision of state-of-the-art knowledge in the area of civil engineering and to produce well-qualified students.

-To maintain and improve academic excellence by carrying out research in various disciplines of civil engineering.

-To make significant contribution to the development of the Zimbabwean industry by providing professional training, advisory and consultancy services and initiating industry-focused projects for students.

-To assist small-and medium-size industries in establishing sound engineering practices.

-To maintain close working relationships with the industry by offering courses that are relevant to society.

-To initiate and improve cooperation with government departments, non-governmental organizations and other institutions that promote the advancement of civil engineering.
