Non-Academic Staff The Department is short-staffed: there only 4 technicians/technical assistants out of the required number of 12. Teaching/Courses B.Sc. (Hons) Degree Programme M.Sc. Programme in Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) Short Courses are offered through WaterNet and CCEE (Centre for Continuing Engineering Education). Equipment Laboratory equipment is old, outdated and needs replacements with modern, state of the art equipment Laboratories Soil mechanics/Geotechnical laboratory Water and wastewater laboratory Bitumen laboratory Hydraulics laboratory Timber research & Structures laboratory Highlights of: Research Carried out for private sector, government departments, and consulting/contracting organization: Water quality testing Soil samples testing Testing of Concrete cubes and cylinders Permeability for soils and concrete Construction Materials Analysis Projects Water and Wastewater infrastructure development River and dam engineering Catchment planning and management Water resources management Public transport facilities Department Capacity/Capability Can train 35 undergraduate and 20 post-graduate students for the full-time study leading to B.Sc (Hons) and M.Sc. degrees. Has facilities for arranging seminars and workshops and continuing engineering courses.
