5 “O” level subjects including a pass at English Language and    Mathematics AND 3 “A” level subjects which include TWO Commercial subjects.

Special Entry 

To qualify for Special entry into undergraduate programs, a candidate may in approved cases be exempted from taking Level I courses.

  • Higher National Diploma in Accountancy and Honors in Business Studies or membership of Public Accountancy and Auditing Board.

To qualify for Special Entry into Level I, a candidate should have 5 “O” level subjects including a pass at English Language and Mathematics AND 2 “A” level subjects.

 

National Diploma in Accountancy or ZAAT

 

REGULATIONS FOR POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES 

The postgraduate degree programs offered in the Faculty of Commerce for accountancy are: 

Master of Accountancy Degree (MACC) 

 

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  1. To be considered for admission into the programme, an applicant must normally have a: minimum of a 2.1 pass in an appropriate approved undergraduate honours degree awarded by the University of Zimbabwe or any recognised university.
  2. An application for admission, with the necessary supporting documents, must be submitted to the Deputy Registrar (Academic) on the prescribed application form. 

ASSESSMENT OF COURSES 

  1. The University marking scheme for post-graduate programmes by coursework shall apply in all courses and the dissertation.
  2. To pass a course, a student must pass both the formal examination and the continuous assessment.
  3. The overall mark for a course shall be derived as follows: 

 

Formal examination                70% 

 

Continuous assessment           30%

 

Examination of part 2 shall be in the form of a submitted dissertation to be assessed by a panel of examiners.
