Position: Director
B. Pharm (Zim) – 1982, MPS (Ohio Northern University), PharmD. (State of New York at Buffalo) – 1988, MHPE (University of Illinois at Chicago) - 1997 He joined the University in 1988 in Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice section as a lecturer. He became the Chairman by then the Department of Pharmacy in 1991 – 1994. In 1995 he became the Director of Zimbabwe National Drug and Toxicology Information Service (DaTIS) which is under the School of Pharmacy. In 2002 he became the chairman of the department again up to 2005. In 2002 he became the Senior Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy. In the year 2010 he became the Director of the School up to present. His research interest is focused on HIV Clinical Pharmacology, Curriculum Development and Traditional Medicines. Currently he is also the Chairperson of the Traditional Medical Practitioners’ Council, Member of the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe, Member of the Pharmacists Council of Zimbabwe, Member of the Traditional Medicines Ethics Research committee of the Medical Research Council, Founder and Chairperson of the Chronic Therapy Association of Zimbabwe and Patron of Research Pharmacists in Zimbabwe. Professor T.E Chagwedera BSc. USL, MSc MGill, PhD Laval He is a Professor in the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Section. He was the Chairman of the then department of Pharmacy in the year 1987 – 1990. His research interest is in Applied Toxicology, Ethnopharmacology, Neurobehavioural pharmacology. He is the Director of the Drug and Toxicology Information Service (DaTIS) and he is a member of the various professional and academic societies including the Pharmaceutical Society of Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Young Academy of Sciences (Founding President), Network of African Poisons Centres and Applied Toxicologists (NAPCAT – Founding Secretary), the European Association of Poison Centres and Clinical Toxicologists (EAPCCT), NAPRECA-Zimbabwe .

Mrs T.G. Monera – Penduka, Lecturer

Pharm Hons (Zim) – 2005, MPhil (Zim) – 2009, PG Dip Clin Trials (London) - 2011 Ms Monera-Penduka is a Permanent Full-time Lecturer in the Pharmacy Practice and Clinical Pharmacy section and a Pre-doctoral Fellow with the State University of New York at Buffalo. Her research interests include the impact of traditional medicine on antiretroviral therapy, homosexual and heterosexual HIV prevention (PEP, PrEP, MC, microbicides) and Pharmacy Education. She has experience in a wide variety of pre-clinical in vitro, and in vivo techniques for assessing drug interactions, bioanalytical assay development and validation as well as pharmacokinetic data analysis and interpretation. He is a temporary full time lecturer in the Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice section. He is a Pharmaceutical scientist and Health Economics researcher. Nyasha has experience in Drug Disposition & Toxicology as applied to drug development (2009 – 2011), as well as in medicines regulatory affairs (2007 – 2009). He holds a Doctoral research fellowship position in Health Economics at the University of Groningen. His research interests include economic evaluation of healthcare interventions, safety of therapies and pharmacometrics (Pharmacokinetic – Pharmacodynamic modeling). Currently, he is working on the health economics and safety of blood & blood products in Sub-Saharan Africa.
