Find more infoThe Department of Geology (DG) is a department within the Faculty of Science. It trains geologists for both the nation and international world. You will find DG graduates in the public sector and private sectors as well as in the academic arena. The programmes offered in the Department have a long history of success as evidenced by the fact that the graduates from this Department have been employed all over the world with documented successes. In Southern Africa, most countries have over a 100 geologist trained by the department working for them. The Geology department at the University of Zimbabwe was the first department to be set up in the faculty of science out of the realisation that Zimbabwe is endowed with lots of mineral resources which require skilled people to fully explore and exploit them.
