General Overview of the Centre 

The core business of the Human Resources Research Centre (HRRC) is centred on three major activities. First, publishing of the Zimbabwe Journal of Educational Research (ZJER), Occasional Paper Series and research based publications. The ZJER is an international refereed journal that is published in print three times a year and also hosted by AJOL online at www.ajol.inf. The main thrust of ZJER is to facilitate the publication of educational and scholarly research articles written by academics throughout the world. The HRRC has a team of Editors, supported by the Editorial Board and Advisory Team and they work as a team to maintain and improve the quality of our publications.

Second, research, the centre has a computer laboratory which assists in Information Communication Technology training and the library which is equipped with a collection of books, reports, journals and other research instruments. Third, training and consultancy, the centre also offers training and consultancy work. In 2013, the HRRC was awarded a grant by UNICEF to develop a more contextual and local psychometric instrument relevant to the Zimbabwean youth, at the same time capacitating schools and other institutions to fairly assess children in terms of ability for placement purposes.
