Mr M. Takawira is currently with the University of Zimbabwe as a lecturer in the Automotive and Aeronautical Engineering Department. He teaches a wide range of courses which include: Aircraft Power systems, Aircraft Regulation Systems, Metrology, Aircraft Digital and Electronics Systems, Electromagnetics.
He started off as an Electrical Power Engineering apprentice at Zimglass in Gweru. He then joined the AFZ as an apprentice in the Avionics field (Aircraft Radio Systems) and worked on a number of aircrafts, until he became an Aircraft Radio systems inspector. He was then deployed to the School of Technical Training as a Lecturer in the Avionics fields, chief among them being Navigation systems. Thereafter, he conducted lecturing of telecommunication courses at Telone centre for learning. He later on joined the Scientific Industrial and Development Centre (SIRDC) as a Senior Research Scientist in the Electronics and Communications Institute. His duties included offering consultations and trainings in industrial automation, power factor correction and solar systems sizing and installations.
Research Interests: Navigation Systems, Remote Sensing, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and Automation.
