Entry Requirements: A good first degree at least 2.1 in Social Sciences, Agriculture, Geography or Rural and Urban Planning.

MSEC 501 Human Ecology: The course is multi-disciplinary and introduces students to ecological principles, the interaction between humans and natural resources systems.

MSEC502 Research Methods and Tools for Social Ecological Analysis: The course covers aspects of social ecology.

MSEC503 Rural Livelihoods Strategies and Ecology: The course covers human interaction and exploitation of natural resources for livelihood and welfare.

MSEC 504 Natural Resource Policy Analysis: The course considers natural resources as global commons and analyzes the formulation and implementation of policy on them at the local, national, regional and international levels.

MSEC505 Institutional Aspects of Natural Resource Management: The course focuses on the linkages between institutions and natural resources management.

MSEC506 Conflict Prevention, Management and Resolution in Natural Resource Use: The course provides a theoretical foundation in the field of conflict identification, analysis and management.
