Mission: To enhance the educational opportunities of students through the implementation of a system of acquisition, cataloguing, classification and processing of all print and non print library materials and through the coordination of all library automated operations. Background: Bibliographic Services Division consists of Acquisitions, Periodicals, and Cataloguing Department. These three departments coordinate specialised library functions and services to enable the smooth operations of the library. Activities coordinated by each of the three arms of Bibliographic Services Departments will be streamlined under each of the departments provided through the active links on the home page. These range from coordination of selection of library material, allocating resources to the various faculties for actual purchasing of the material. Periodicals department coordinates the acquisition, processing and circulation of periodicals. Cataloguing department maintains the OPAC and other online databases for commercially as well as locally produced material. In addition to this information, policies governing operations of these departments can be accessed under each of them on their home pages. |
