BSc. Honours Cyber Security and Forensic Auditing (HCF)
This programme produces graduates with knowledge in the set of practical applications and tools for securing digital information and electronic devices. They will mainly be involved in developing secure applications, performing penetration tests to test the security of applications, forensic investigations when cyber-offence has been committed to determine the extent of the damages, develop cryptographic models to thwart cyber-attacks, developing software in a secure manner, perform risk assessment models to actively manage threats, developing security policies for organisations. Furthermore, they can start their own consultancies in cybersecurity and forensic auditing.
BSc. Honours Data Science and Informatics (HDS)
This programme produces graduates with knowledge in the set of practical applications and tools for analysing various types of data. In addition, the graduates are equipped with the ability to develop applications that extract meaningful information from vast amounts of data. They will mainly be involved in developing classification and regression model and developing data analysis software using the developed models. Furthermore, they can start their own consultancies in Data Science and Informatics.
Postgraduate Diploma Information Science and Knowledge Management (PIS)
This programme produces graduates with knowledge in the set of practical applications and tools for defining, structuring, retaining and sharing the knowledge and experience of employees within an organization. In addition, the graduates are equipped with the ability to create, acquire, organise, communicate, and use information and knowledge, organise knowledge resources, design and implement an organisational knowledge management strategy, develop and design a robust search strategy and conducting a comprehensive literature review, design and create an informative website, harness available organisational knowledge to support decision making, ,policy and practice and administer and manage various digital information projects. Furthermore, they can start their own consultancies in Information Science and Knowledge Management.
MSc. Data Science and Informatics (MDS)
This programme is an interdisciplinary degree program designed to provide studies in scientific methods, processes, and systems to extract knowledge or insights from data in various forms, either structured or unstructured. It produces graduates with knowledge in the set of practical applications and tools for making necessary predictions of various forms of data such as financial data, health data (MRIs, X-Rays etc). They will mainly be involved in building systems that scale to big data streams using algorithms and database systems. Data Science and Informatics.
MSc. Information Science and Knowledge Management (MIS)
This programme produces graduates with knowledge in the set of practical applications and tools for improving an organization’s efficiency and saving knowledge within the company. In addition, the graduates are equipped with the ability to design and execute research data management programmes and services, conduct rapid evidence synthesis in support of policy and practice, design and implement information policies, design and implement instructional methods for information literacy, provide guidance on ethical and legal use of credible information in research and practice, apply indigenous knowledge systems to the heritage-based philosophy in support of the modernisation agenda and apply techniques for text and web mining for unstructured data and data mining for knowledge management applications and data-driven development. Furthermore, they can start their own consultancies in Information Science and Knowledge Management applying Management Information Systems and strategic thinking in information services.
MSc. Information Technology Auditing (MIT)
This programme produces graduates with knowledge in the set of practical applications and tools for analysing and assessing an organizations’ IT infrastructure, policies, and operations. In addition, the graduates are equipped with the ability to develop, implement and execute an IS audit strategy in accordance with IS audit standards, guidelines and best practices, effectively communicate emerging issues, potential risks, and audit results to key stakeholders, critically appraise the effectiveness of IS governance structure to ensure that IT supports the organization’s strategies and objectives, evaluate the design, implementation and monitoring of various security controls to ensure that information assets are adequately safeguarded and critically analyse problematic legal and ethical situations, examine their possible resolution and recommend a justifiable module of action. Furthermore, they can start their own consultancies in Information Technology Auditing.
MSc. Cyber Security (MCY)
This programme produces graduates with knowledge in the set of practical applications and tools for developing a wide-ranging and comprehensive skill set in effective cyber security measures, threats and technologies. In addition, the graduates are equipped with the ability to utilise technical material that will help them make effective cyber security decisions, and addressing issues such as: identity; trust and reputation; cryptography; network security; malware and intrusion detection; risk management; and the development of high-assurance systems. Furthermore, they can start their own consultancies in Cyber security.
