 Postgraduate Degree Programmes

1.  Postgraduate Diploma Land and Geographic Information Science (PDLGIS)  Appropriate first Degree two good  A-subjects,one of which must be Mathematics and a National Diploma in an appropriate subject such as Surveying, Geography, Computer Science or other qualifications approved by the Senate. Candidates with academic qualifications recognized by professional institutions as National Diploma equivalents may only be admitted after satisfying the department through an interview and or a qualifying interview.

2.  Master of Science Advanced Mineral Processing and Extractive Metallurgy(MMET)  The candidate must hold at least a lower second-class Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Mining, or Metallurgical Engineering, Geology ot related field.  2 Years Full- Time 
3.  Master of Science Architecture and Heritage Conservation (MAHC)  At least a Lower Second class Degree 2.2 Bachelor of Science Degree Architecture or an equivalent Degree qualification.  18 Months Full-Time 
4.  Master of Science Automative Engineering (MSCAUTO)  At least an upper second Degree (2.1) in BSc Honours Degree in Automative Engineering or an equivalent degree qualification in an approved Honours Degree in a related field.  18 Months Full- Time 
5.  Master of Science Communication Engineering (MSCOMMENG)   The candidate must hold a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering/Electronics Engineering with an Upper second class or better. Applicants with Degree class of 2.2 and two years working experience may be considered.

 6.   Master of Science Electrical Power Engineering (MSCMEPE)   The candidate must hold a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Electrical Engineering/Electronics Engineering with an Upper second class or better. Applicants with Degree class of 2.2 and two years working experience may be considered.

 7.  Master of Science Geomatics Engineering Degree (MGE)   Candidates must have a BSc. Honours Degree or equivalent in Surveying/Geomatics, or Land Management or similar subject. Candidates with lower academic qualifications and significance experience in the industry will be considered on an individual basis after satisfying the Department through an interview and/ a qualifying examination(s) 

 18 Months Full-Time

 8.   Master of Science  Degree Geotechnical Engineering ( MSGTE)  To be admitted into the Programme, candidates must have normally obtained an acceptable first degree in Civil Engineering with classification of lower Second Class or better. All candidates should have a minimum of proven two (2) years   18 Months Full-Time 
 9.   Master of Science Highway and Transportation Engineering (MSHTE)   Candidates must have normally obtained an acceptable first degree in Civil Engineering with a classification of lower Second Class or better. All candidates should have a minimum of proven two years relevant and proven post qualification experience.   18 Months Full-Time 
10.  Master of Science  Degree Integrated  Water and Resources Management (MSIWM)   Candidates must have normally obtained an acceptable first degree in Civil Engineering with a classification of lower Second Class or better. All candidates should have a minimum of proven two years relevant and proven post qualification experience.   18 Months Full-Time 
 11.   Master of Science Manufacturing Systems Engineering ( MSE)   Applicants should have a first Degree in Engineering or Applied Sciences discipline (Physics, Chemistry) or equivalent with at least a lower second class pass.   18 Months Full-Time 
 12.   Master of Science  Mechatronics and Artifical Intelligence  Applicants should have a first Degree in Engineering or Applied Sciences discipline (Physics, Chemistry) or equivalent with at least a lower second class pass.   18 Months Full-Time 
 13.   Master of Science Mining Engineering (MMIN)   The candidate must hold at least a lower second-class Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Mining, or Metallurgical Engineering, Geology ot related field.   2 Years Full-Time 
 14.   Master of Science Degree Quantity Surveying (MSQUS)   Candidates must have normally obtained an acceptable first degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent with a classification of Upper Second Class or better. All candidates should have a minimum of proven two years relevant and proven post qualification experience.   18 Months Full-Time 
15. Masters Real Estate  Management (MREM) At least a Lower Second class Degree 2.2 in Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Real Estate or an equivalent Degree qualification  18 Months Full-Time 
16. Master of Science Degree Sanitation and Wasterwater Management  (MSSWM)  To admitted into the Programme, candidates must have normally obtained an acceptable first class degree in Civil Engineering with a classification of lower second Class or better. All candidates should have a minimum of proven two years qualification experience.  18 Months Full-Time 
17   Master of Science Smart Settlement Design and Amenities   Honours Degree in Spatial Planning and Management. Requirements degree class 2.1 or better or an equivalent degree qualification.   18 Months Full-Time 
 18.   Master of Science Degree Structural Engineering (MSSTE)   To admitted into the Programme, candidates must have normally obtained an acceptable first class degree in Civil Engineering with a classification of lower second Class or better. All candidates should have a minimum of proven two years qualification experience.   18 Months Full-Time
 19.   MSc Transport Planning and Logistics (MTPL)   At least a Lower Second Class Degree 2.2 in Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Transport and Logistics or an equivalent Degree qualification.  18 Months Full-Time
20. UJ/UZ joint Masters Sustainable Urban Planning Development (MSUPD)   Honours Degree in Spatial Planning and Management. Requirements degree class 2.1 or better or an equivalent degree qualification.
