Business Stakeholders Symposium

  1. Theme: Dealing with the Vicissitudes Confronting Zimbabwe’s Economy and Business: Interface with the Media
  2. Date: Wednesday 12 July 2017
  3. Venue:  Llewellyn Lecture Theatre
  4. Symposium Rationale

Organized by the Faculty of Arts and Faculty of Social Studies, the symposium is a precursor to the inaugural Business, Financial and Economic Reporting short course which the University of Zimbabwe intends to offer in August 2017. The symposium seeks to bring together academics from the University of Zimbabwe, Government officials, players in the corporate sector, economists, experts and journalists to build synergies, exchange information on the country’s economy, as well as identify and discuss gaps in business reporting in Zimbabwe. It will pave way for future seminar series and symposia that seek to bring together government, business and academics to discuss topical issues affecting business and the economy in general and proffer solutions. It will also enable the University of Zimbabwe to tailor-make programmes in business, financial and economic reporting that will suit the needs of the business community and media practitioners.

Target stakeholders:

Government, corporate sector (including partners and potential partners), business and economic experts, UZ officials and academics and UZ students.

Location Llewellyn Lecture Theatre, University of Zimbabwe
