Biography

Moses Chundu is a renowned Economist, Strategist, Development Enthusiast and Thought Leader whose broad and deep experience has made him versatile and well sought after in the corporate and governance space. He teaches Agriculture Economic Policy, Development Economics and Macroeconomics in the Department of Economics. He consults on strategy and turnarounds and is a registered Corporate Rescue Practitioner (Insolvency Practitioner). He is also a registered Deceased Estate Administrator. For his volunteer community initiatives, he founded Volunteers Association of Zimbabwe (VAZ) as its Chairman promoting the spirit of volunteerism in Zimbabwe and beyond. He also serves as the Executive Director of the Africa Leadership & Management Academy (ALMA) a Campus Crusade for Christ leadership development school. He is highly experienced working and consulting with government and quasi-government organizations in an executive and consulting capacity. As Chairman of a listed industrial conglomerate ART Corporation, he steered the group out of corporate abyss growing the share price by 236% during the year 2015, winning ART the award of Best Performing listed counter in Sub Saharan Africa twice in a row. Throughout his career, he has been heavily tested in pioneering institutions and building winning teams and driving change. His career has seen him through Midlands State University as inaugural Director of the Graduate School of Business & Management; CFX Financial Services Group as Group Economist; Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe in various executive capacities in Homelink (Pvt) Limited, Foreign Investment Promotion Division in the Governor’s Office and Fiscorp (Pvt) Limited. A brief pilgrimage to South Africa in 2007 saw his career through deVere Group and later DBSA working on the World Bank’s Renewable Energy Market Transformation Project for the South African Government. In 2009, he was then called back home on national duty to serve as Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister in the Inclusive Government. He is an international citizen having travelled to over 50 capitals of the world during his illustrious career.
