Mr Webster Gumindoga

Qualifications: MSC. Geoinformation Science for Earth Observation in Water Resources and Environmental Management - University of Twente - ITC, Netherlands, MSc (Environmental Policy and Planning) - University of Zimbabwe, BSc (Hons) Geography and Environmental Science - University of Zimbabwe.

Mr. Webster Gumindoga is the current Departmental Postgraduate Coordinator. In his role he oversees the enrolment, teaching and research from 3 MSc Programmes: Master Of Science Degree in Integrated Water Resources Management (MSIWM), Master Of Science Degree in Water Resources Engineering and Infrastructure Management (MSWRE) and Master Of Science Degree in Sanitation and Wastewater Management (MSSWM). He is also the departmental rep on the Faculty Research Committee.

Mr. Gumindoga is a holder of an MSc in Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation for Water Resources and Environmental Management (University of Twente) as well as an MSc in Environmental Policy & Planning (University of Zimbabwe).

Mr Gumindoga is the past Secretary General of the Zimbabwe Young Academy of Sciences. His research interests are in the areas of:

  • Spatial and quantitative hydrology, water balance assessment and hydrological modelling
  • Quantification of water cycle components (Rainfall, Groundwater, Soil moisture, Hydrochemistry, Evapotranspiration and Radiative Transfer)
  • Use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVS) in civil and water engineering
  • Feedbacks between climate, landuses, water cycles and other societal influences
  • Flood modelling and risk assessment
  • Climate proof structures and smart settlements.
