Our Faculties

Postgraduate Diploma in Media & Communication Studies

Code: DMCS

Programme Duration: One year full time and two years part time.  One year industrial attachment

Programme Description:

  1.  Students are inducted to various media theories
  2. Exciting field practicals such as photo journalism, broadcast journalism, writing news articles for print and electronic media, video shooting, video editing, web management, and all online media tools.
  3. Excellent guest/visiting lecturers and industry experts

Entry Requirements: Applicants should be holders of a good University first degree in Humanities with a 2.2 or better. Those from other disciplines may also be considered

Job Opportunities/Prospects:
Journalist in print and electronic media, producer in electronic media, sub-editing, public relations in private sector/ NGO/government departments, media researcher, policy analyst, lectureship

 

BA Special Honours

Programme Duration: One year full time

Programme Description:

  1. Introduce students to a wide variety of literatures
  2. Encourage and develop in our students the capacity to  interrogate language, and its use in literature and other forms of communication
  3. Encourage and nurture creative writing on and off campus

Entry Requirements: At least a 2.1 degree class in a first degree with an English component or other relevant qualification
