MBChB III (Chemical Pathology) PG3M03 offered in Year III
Chemical Pathology is the use of biochemical and molecular markers in the diagnosis and management of disease. It provides a bridge between concepts taught in the basic sciences and their application in clinical practice. Students receive instruction on the following aspects of biochemical disorders:
- Aetiology
- Pathogenesis
- Biochemical and molecular markers used in the diagnosis and monitoring of disease.
- Risk factors and complications of biochemical disorders.
- Data interpretation
Master’s Degree in Clinical Biochemistry (MDCB) 504 2 years Part time
The programme gives a comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge to enable the student to attain an understanding of biochemical processes associated with pathological changes, the rationale for investigations and management of disease. Interpretation of test results and to provide a basis for research. At the end of the programme, students are expected to have acquired several attributes
