Bio: Praise Gamuchirai Karuma is a lecturer in the Department of Community and Social Development at the University of Zimbabwe. He a holder of a Bsc Hons in Sociology and Masters in Sociology and Social Anthropology from the University of Zimbabwe. Praise also holds an Executive Certificate in Humanitarian Assistance and Project Management from the University of Zimbabwe. He is currently working on his PhD in Development Studies entitled ‘Gender and Socio-Ecological Resilience to Climate change: A transformative approach in selected post Fastrack farms in Zvimba East District’ at the University of Pretoria. As a researcher he has worked on several projects as a fieldwork coordinator, co-researcher and lead researcher culminating several in book chapters and journal articles published to date. He has worked in several research with both governmental and non-governmental organizations in Zimbabwe in various areas such as climate change, disaster management, waste management, SGBV amongst others. Praise has also served as a guest lecturer in affiliate colleges of the University of Zimbabwe such as the ZRP staff college. On an interfaculty level, Praise Karuma has also collaborated with UZ/ECSDI on several research activities carried out by the institute.
