The Department of Clinical Pharmacology is situated in the University of Zimbabwe, College of Health Sciences (UZ-CHS). Clinical Pharmacology is taught to undergraduate degree programmes such as MBChB, BDS Part III - IV, BSc (Hons) Pharmacy Part II - IV, BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, Occcupational Therapy and Nursing Science.
The department also runs a 12 month Masters in Clinical Pharmacology programme. It also teaches clinical pharmacology to Post Graduate Diploma (DOSH), Masters in Public Health (MPH) and MMed students.
Mission
- To train and provide skilled pharmacologists for the empowerment of the health sector in the country.
- To promote the practice of rational evidence based pharmacotherapy by equipping undergraduate and postgraduate clinical pharmacologists with the principles and skills of optimization of therapeutic practice and clinical research
