Bio: 

Specialist Public Health Physician with over 10 years of experience in clinical medicine, health programmes implementation, evaluation, teaching and research. He has worked in HIV & TB programme implementation with the following organisations; Population Services International, Global Fund, MSF and PEPFAR supported International Training Education and Centre for Health before joining the University of Zimbabwe. He is (has been) involved in various educational, training and capacity building initiatives which include the Short Course in Antiretroviral Therapy at the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp, Belgium; and the Zimbabwe Ministry of Health and Child Care National HIV, TB & STI Mentorship and Capacity Building Programme. At the University of Zimbabwe, he teaches epidemiology, research, communicable and non-communicable diseases to undergraduates and postgraduates students. He is also involved is the supervision of postgraduate research projects for Masters and PhD students.

His PhD was a sandwich programme between the University of Zimbabwe, the Institute of Tropical Medicine in Antwerp and Vrije Universiteit Brussels, Belgium. He was awarded a scholarship funded by the Belgian Development Cooperation. His PhD project focused on the implementation of HIV Treat All in Zimbabwe. He currently has a Post–Doctoral Scholarship at the University of Zimbabwe funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) through the Enhancing NCDs Research and Innovation Capacity in Harare (ENRICH) program aimed at addressing the burden of NCDs in Zimbabwe, as an emerging major cause of morbidity and mortality in SSA.
