Experience.

Carol Mahachi has been a member of the department for 14 years, starting as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, the she was appointed as an Assistant Lecturer. She became a permanent member of the academic staff in 2011 as a Lecturer. She has been involved in the Prospective Urban Rural Epidemiology (PURE) Study from 2004 as a research assistant/nutritionist. She is a L’Oreal For Women in Science Fellow (2017) and a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellow. As Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellow she has benefited from the Research and Innovation Staff Exchange Programme where she was hosted by Dr Christina Karatzaferi at Plymouth Marjon University in Plymouth, United Kingdom. In 2017 she was co-beneficiary with Prof Kathryn Myburgh (Stellenbosch University) of the African Collaboration Grant (2017).
