Qualifications: BSc (Human Physiology), MBChB (UZ), Masters in Biomedical Informatics (OHSU, USA), Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA)

Biography

Dr Simbini is the course curator of the Biomedical Informatics degree programmes at undergraduate and post graduate levels. His interests include Bioinformatics looking at genomics of infectious diseases and cancers with a focus on personalised medicine. He is also involved in various Medical Informatics activities including Health Systems Strengthening using electronic medical records in Zimbabwe and Lesotho.

Research Interests

Genomics in infectious diseases and cancers. Electronic medical record systems and Machine Learning for disease predictions and patient prognosis
