Description & Entry Requirements
The Department currently offers the Bachelor of Science (BSc) Honours Degree in Economics at the Undergraduate Level. In addition, it teaches students from other Departments in the Faculties of Social Studies, Commerce and Arts. At the Post-graduate Level, the Department offers the Master of Science (MSc) Degree in Economics by coursework and dissertation. The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) and Doctor of Philosophy (DPhil) Degrees are attained by theses. Currently the MSc is available both on Full-time and Part-time basis. Entry requirements for the Bachelor’s Degree is eleven points. For MSc admission, a prospective candidate must have at least an Upper Second Class pass in BSc (Hons) Economics. Students with lower qualifications may be admitted if they have at least two years working experience in a relevant field. The Department is able to offer a limited number of Scholarships to Post-graduate students. In addition to the MSc, the Department offers an MPhil and a DPhil by research.
