Key Qualifications: Dr Mutisi is an Animal Scientist with over 25 years of teaching, research, consultancy and outreach experiences in tropical livestock production. His special areas of research are the improvement of livestock production and fodder production in the smallholder farming communities of Zimbabwe. The research work is mainly carried out on-farm with the participation of the farmers, postgraduate students and extension services. In addition, the research work involves extension activities which include the dissemination of research findings and technologies produced to other farming communities. He has authored and co-authored over 30 publications in animal nutrition, animal production, farming systems in the smallholder farming communities and water sanitation in smallholder farming communities.
He is involved in teaching a wide range of both undergraduate and Master of Science courses. The courses are: Animal Science, Agricultural Biochemistry, Nutritional Biochemistry, Animal Nutrition, Principles of Animal Production and Cell Biology and Biotechnology. He has also supervised 15 MPhil students and 8 PhD students.
