This is one of the most well established units in the Faculty. Student teams take turns to advise “indigent” members of the public on a variety of legal problems ranging from family law – related disputes, accident damages claims, peace orders, succession and inheritance disputes e.t.c. Apart from offering free legal education advice to citizens who can not afford the services of “commercial” lawyers, the Legal Aid Clinic is used for practical skills training and demonstrations to our students. On average the Clinic handles between 150 to 200 cases per annum and with a significant number of these cases being satisfactorily resolved.
