University of Zimbabwe Mobile Application – Design and Implementation Competition
University of Zimbabwe students are being invited to come up with an original design and implementation of a mobile app. The mobile app should result in provision of information on-the-go.
Requirements
The following are the overall requirements which you should satisfy

Give it a name (Please name your App)
-
Compatible with iOS & Android (Android version 2.3.4 and above)
-
Does not need to use internet for normal functioning, only for updates on new information viz. information already downloaded onto the phone can still be accessed even when user is no longer connected to the internet

Compatible with MySQL database.
-
Provide documentation i.e. Data Flow Diagram or any other relevant design diagrams
-
Backend Interface for users to be able to update information on various sections of the App.
Content
Three distinct themes are envisaged. One for members of staff, one for students, and one for guests. For each of theme the following minimum requirements should be satisfied.

Only registered University of Zimbabwe students are eligible to enter this competition.

Students can enter individually or as a team.
-
A student can only be in one team
-
Each team/individual can submit at most one entry.
-
Only original work is expected.
-
Teams/individuals should submit a design of their work
-
Teams/individuals should submit a working App
-
Shortlisted teams/individuals will be required to demonstrate their App
-
The winning team/individual will get XXX dollars as appreciation for their work

The App and its designs are due on 30 June 2019 at 2pm

Demonstrations for shortlisted teams will be on 15 July 2019 at 8 am at the Diamond Lecture Theater
