Mr James Mupanga

Qualifications: Msc in Sociology and Social Anthropology, Bsc in Sociology, (University of Zimbabwe)

Bio:  James Mupanga is a Lecturer in the Department of Social and Community Development, Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Zimbabwe. He is a holder of a Master of Science Degree in Sociology and Social Anthropology (UZ), Bachelor Honors Degree in Sociology (UZ). James has experience in working both in private sector as well as public sector. James worked with several NGOs which include UNDP, International Rescue Committee (IRC) and Mercy Corps doing several programs on Sustainable livelihoods and rural development. He also worked with Zimbabwe Resilience Building Fund (ZRBF) working on climate change and resilience building doing work around Nyanga District. He has vast experience in doing research work and previously worked with Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe (ICAZ), Accountability Lab Zimbabwe, Zimbabwe Leadership Forum (ZIMLEF) and the Ministry of Primary and Secondary education. His research interests are around community development and empowerment, rural and urban development, climate change and resilience building, sustainable livelihoods of vulnerable groups within communities.

Qualifications: MSc in Sociology and Social Anthropology and BSc honours in Sociology. (University of Zimbabwe)

Bio: Shingirirai Cain Nzvere is a Junior Lecturer in the Department of Community and Social Development. He is a holder of a Master’s degree in Sociology and Social Anthropology (2021) and Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Sociology (2019). Shingirirai is dedicated sociology major with interests on the betterment of society and the improvement of the quality of life of the people. His research revolves around crime studies, gender studies, livelihoods, governance, urbanisation, and development. He hopes to continue his research in other aspects such as cybercrimes, environmental crimes and climate change. He strives to attain a crime free society.

Research Interests: Cybercrimes trends, dynamics and solutions, Environmental Crimes, Climate Change and Biodiversity, Rural and Urban Livelihoods, Urbanisation and Development, Gender Studies, Governance and Human Rights.
