Rejoice Murisi

Qualifications: B.Sc. Sociology and Anthropology, M.Sc. Sociology and Anthropology (University of Zimbabwe), Post Graduate Diploma in Education (Zimbabwe Open University), PhD Sociology and Anthropology (Women University in Africa) (in progress).

Bio: Rejoice Murisi is a temporary full-time lecturer in the Department of Community and Social Development, Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences. She holds a master’s degree in Sociology and Anthropology, Post Graduate Diploma in Education, BSc Sociology and Anthropology and a current PhD candidate at Women's University in Africa. She is a Social Anthropologist and Sociologist with over 7 years of experience in teaching and supervision of BSc dissertations in Social Anthropology and Sociology.

Research Interests: Sociology and Anthropology of Religion, Migration, Ageing, Rural and Urban Development, Gender, and Sexuality.

Lovemore Chirubvu

Qualifications: Msc in Sociology and Social Anthropology, Bsc in Sociology, University of Zimbabwe  

Bio: Lovemore Chirubvu holds a Master's degree in Sociology and Social Anthropology, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Sociology, both obtained from the University of Zimbabwe. Currently, he serves as a lecturer in the Department of Community and Social Development at the University of Zimbabwe. In his role as a lecturer, Lovemore specialises in teaching subjects related to social innovation and community development. With his expertise in sociology and social anthropology, he brings a deep understanding of social dynamics and the complexities of community-based initiatives. Lovemore Chirubvu's passion lies in equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary to address societal challenges and foster sustainable development within communities. Through his teaching and research, he aims to inspire and empower the next generation of social innovators and change-makers in Zimbabwe and beyond. He has also an edited several journal for Science Publications,  Journal of Social Sciences.

Research Interests: Community development, food sovereignty, rural livelihoods, climate change, and sustainable development, the political economy of resource use, urban sustainability, social movements, innovation, and ICT in development
