WWAP produces, on behalf of UN-Water, the annual World Water Development Report (WWDR). This key report is an annual review providing an authoritative picture of the state, use and management of the world’s freshwater resources. The 2017 WWDR entitled, “Wastewater: the untapped resource”, focuses on the critical role of wastewater management for vibrant economies, resilient societies and the maintenance of healthy environments. The WWAP of UNESCO is coordinating a UN-Water task force to produce the Synthesis Report on SDG 6 that will summarise the progress in achieving the SDG and provides key policy messages to assist Member States in achieving SDG 6 in the larger Agenda 2030 context.
