Management staff development and welfare issues for bona-fide staff members of the University of Zimbabwe.
Staff Development
This is a Human capital development unit for the University of Zimbabwe academic staff. The University of Zimbabwe funds the appointed Staff development fellows for Masters Degrees and PhDs as follows:
- Tuitions Fees
- Accommodation
- Living Expenses
- Air fares (for those studying abroad)
Staff Accomodation
The University of Zimbabwe does not have the capacity to provide accommodation for its entire staff. However, with the limited accommodation facilities available, the University has an obligation to, first and foremost, provide all expatriate staff, under its employ, with accommodation. Secondly, the University has an obligation to provide staff, whose contracts of employment require them to stay in University accommodation, with accommodation. In instances where accommodation space becomes available, the Vice Chancellor has prerogative to allocate that accommodation to newly appointed local members of the academic staff for six months only.
Training and Development
The University of Zimbabwe aims to upgrade and enhance skills of staff through training and development programmes. The training programmes can be accessed either on campus or sourced out from relevant service providers.
