ECD101	Principles of Microeconomics	This module intends to give students awareness on the operation of Microeconomics: which deals with the economic behaviour of households, individuals, firms, or a particular market. It introduces students to the economic way of thinking which recognises that economic agents must make trade-offs which involve costs between competing alternative uses of scarce resources.
ECD102	Mathematics for Economics	The module is an applications-oriented which provides basic mathematical tools for understanding economics at both micro and macro level. Economists make mathematical tools and models in simplifying seemingly complex theories and ideas. This module introduces basic mathematical tools that are frequently used in economic analysis. The module is designed to explain the basic mathematical concepts in a more intuitive and applied way.
ECD103	Descriptive Statistics & Probability Models in Economics	The module introduces students to a range of statistical ideas and techniques especially the basic skills required for preparing and analysing statistical data. The module aims to develop an understanding of how to work with data and how to use data to describe economic phenomena.
ECD104	Principles of Macroeconomics	This module seeks to introduce macroeconomics, the study of the behaviour of overall economy as opposed to the behaviour of individuals, firms, or a particular market.
ECD105	Sampling Theory & Statistical Inference in Economics	This is the second component of economic statistics module and the module entirely depends on the concepts already covered in the first semester in that it wholly applies probability tools to objective decision making.
ECD106	Mathematics for Economic Analysis	This module improves the student’s understanding of economic theory and application of mathematical techniques and tools to microeconomic and macroeconomics concepts. The module provides some of the necessary mathematical tools for higher level modules in economics. The module seeks to give students a basic knowledge of mathematical tools and techniques required in most of the fields of economics.
BANKFIN101	Corporate and Banking Law	This module aims to introduce students to legal aspects relating to business forms namely companies, corporations, partnerships and trusts in the Zimbabwe.
ACCN101	Business Accounting	This module introduces students to the principles and practices of accounting in a business context. It covers fundamental accounting concepts, the preparation and interpretation of financial statements, and the recording of financial transactions using double-entry bookkeeping. Topics include accounts receivable and payable, inventory management, payroll,and basic cost accounting. Emphasis is placed on understanding the role of accounting information in business decision-making, financial planning, and regulatory compliance. By the end of the module, students will be equipped with practical accounting skills applicable in various business environments.
IDBS101	Information and Digital Skills	The module is designed for all first-year undergraduate students. The module shall empower students to have knowledge of various information sources, search, retrieve, evaluate, process, and apply information resources in university learning using appropriate technology. The students shall learn and demonstrate how to apply effective search strategies in different technological environments and electronic resources. Students will be expected to demonstrate the ethical and fair use of information resources (plagiarism and referencing). Finally, the students will learn how to integrate 21st-century technologies, eResources and eLearning system into university learning and business.
SDLSBE101	Student Development and life Skills	This module aims to equip students with essential personal, interpersonal, and professional skills necessary for holistic development and success in academic and professional settings. It covers topics such as time management, effective communication, problem-solving, leadership, teamwork, emotional intelligence, and stress management. The module also addresses career planning, ethical decision-making, financial literacy, and strategies for maintaining physical and mental well-being. By the end of the module, students will have enhanced their self-awareness, resilience, and life skills, enabling them to navigate challenges, engage productively in society, and achieve personal and professional goals.
LAICBM100	Language Acquisition and Inter- Cultural communication	This module explores the processes of language acquisition and development, with a focus on first and second language learning. It examines linguistic structures, cognitive processes, and sociocultural factors influencing language learning. Additionally, the module addresses the principles and practices of inter-cultural communication, highlighting how culture affects language use, communication styles, and understanding across diverse cultural contexts. Students will develop practical skills for effective communication in multicultural environments, including strategies for overcoming language barriers and fostering intercultural competence in professional and social settings.
ECD203	International Trade Theory and Policy	The module is divided into two parts: international trade theory and international trade policy. International trade theory covers the reasons for trade and explanation of trade patterns and the gains accruing from trade or from restricting trade
ECD204	Intermediate Macroeconomics	This module is an intermediate module in macroeconomics that seeks to introduce students to the building blocks of intertemporal aspects of consumption; savings, investment and government sector are explored. The module also explores how output is determined in both the closed and open economy.
ECD206	Intermediate Microeconomics	This module builds on the microeconomic principles studied in the first year Principles of Microeconomics module and provides an analysis of the way in which the market system functions as a mechanism for coordinating the independent choices of individual economic agents. Its purpose is to enhance the microeconomic knowledge of students and to improve their techniques of economic analysis.
FET201	Financial Mathematics	This module will examine theories and concepts of Financial Mathematics. The emphasis of this module will be placed on the computations of simple and compound interest, nominal and effective rates, future value, present value, discount factors, interpolation and extrapolation and cash flow analysis techniques, money market calculations, discount instruments, CDs and general pricing of assets. It also covers bond markets, equity markets, derivative markets, Macaulay duration and the Capital Asset Pricing model.
FINMAGT203	Financial Management	The Module is aimed at equipping the student with the analytical skills required in financial decision- making and in making financial decisions. The Module covers overview of financial management, risk and return, portfolio management, valuations, sources of finance, capital structure, working capital management, leasing, dividends and share buyback, mergers, acquisitions and corporate restructuring, risk management and derivatives, international financial management
FET301	International Business Environments	The module covers such topics as Globalisation and Internationalisation; Cultural Issues in International Business; Political and legal systems; Government intervention; Emerging Markets; Global Strategic Structure and International Entry Strategy.
FET302	International Development Policy	The module prepares students to critically engage with several of the contemporary issues in international development policy and highlights the link between ideas, policy and the reality of development with an emphasis on the challenges facing local communities in developing countries. The module blends theories of development with the rapidly expanding discipline of public policy to enable the student to examine and explain the rate, form and patterns of socio-economic and environmental development challenges and opportunities.
ACCN303	Credit Risk and Financial Analytics	This module introduces students to the principles and techniques of credit risk assessment and financial analytics. It covers credit risk measurement, modelling, and management, including probability of default, exposure at default, and loss given default. Students will also explore financial data analysis, predictive modelling, and the use of statistical and machine learning tools for risk evaluation. Emphasis is placed on practical applications in banking, investment,and corporate finance. By the end of the module, students will be able to analyse credit risk and leverage financial analytics for informed decision-making.
RISBE301	Research and Innovation Skills	This module introduces students to the fundamental principles and practices of research in higher education, with emphasis on building basic research literacy and skills. It familiarises learners with the nature and purpose of research, types of research, and the research process, including problem identification, formulation of research questions and objectives, literature review, and basic research design. The module also introduces qualitative and quantitative approaches, simple data collection methods, basic data analysis techniques, and ethical considerations in research. By the end of the module, students will be equipped with foundational competencies necessary to read, understand, and conduct simple academic research, preparing them for advanced research work in later stages of their studies.

CCLSBE201	Critical Consciousness and Life Skill	This module focuses on the development of self-awareness, critical thinking, and practical life skills to enable students to navigate personal, academic, and professional challenges effectively. It explores concepts of critical consciousness, ethical decision-making, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence. Students engage with strategies for time management, goal setting, communication, teamwork, and stress management. FET380	Work Related Learning	This will be directed work integrated learning (WIL) with specific deliverables and outcomes. This will be based on one or a combination of models that the university has adopted for industrial training.

FET401	Economics of Public Policy	This module provides students with understanding of some of the major issues facing society such as environmental degradation, provision of health care and education, and competition policy.
FET402	Financial Econometrics	This module aims to introduce students to the fundamental techniques used in the analysis of financial data, and to provide the necessary econometric background to carry out empirical investigations.
FINMGT305	Financial Risk Management	The module is intended to provide a practical, holistic and systematic approach to guide Entrepreneurs in identifying risks and designing control and risk management processes to monitor and mitigate the impact of these risks on the business and financial viability of the enterprise.
FET403	Regional Integration and Multilateral Trading System	The module prepares students to critically engage with several of the contemporary issues in international and regional trade policy and highlights the link between ideas, policy and the reality of trade with an emphasis on the challenges facing local communities in developing countries within the context of the multi-trading system.
FET406	Financial Engineering and Asset Pricing	The module provides instruction in the impact and use of information technology in the financial services sector, specifically looking at financial engineering and asset pricing including exposure to and experience with different kinds of financial services software applications.
FET405	Entrepreneurship for Social and Market Impact	The Module content covers ideas and opportunities for entrepreneurship and innovation; generating and screening new venture ideas in social and commercial contexts; product or service positioning and targeting; target market selection and evaluation; assessing entrepreneurial risk; the entrepreneurial process; organising the range of resources needed to create a new venture; ethical considerations; developing a practical feasibility study for a new venture idea.
BIE402	Industrialisation and Development	The module focuses on the industrialisation process at the national, regional and global level. The module taps into classical as well as modern economic theories of production, strategy, entrepreneurship and innovation. These theories will shed light on economic, technical, ethical, social and political dimensions of industries and industrialisation.
FET460	Project	This module is an independent project in content areas related to administration and management. Students work under the supervision of an assigned departmental lecturer to address comprehensive company-based or research-orientated problems with documented results. Each student will have an individualized project, which may be assigned by the student's employer or may be created in coordination with a faculty member.
FET303	International Trade Law	This module examines the legal aspects of international trade in a broad context. The legal framework of the module is English law as well as the relevant international conventions and standard terms. The module examines international sale of goods which are transported by ship/road/air with emphasis on sea transport.
FINMGT306	Management of Electronic Systems	The module provides instruction in the impact and use of information technology in the financial services sector, including exposure to and experience with different kinds of financial services software applications.
BANKFIN 202	Money and Banking	The module deals with the roles and importance of banks, microfinance institutions, pension funds, transfer secretaries, insurance companies, asset managers and credit unions and their growth in both developing and developed countries money market instruments, capital market securities and derivative markets will also be covered.

The module explores ethical decision-making, professional conduct, philosophical foundations of knowledge and values, and the role of communication in leadership, teamwork, and enterprise development.
