| HMMC 104 | News Writing 1 | The module introduces students to the art of news writing focusing mainly on how to write hard news stories in various beats including news, business, health, environment and courts. It adopts a theoretical and practical approach where students will be equipped with basics news writing skills. They will also be taught theoretical aspects of news writing. Students will also be capacitated with skills to be able to look for stories, conduct interviews and write the actual stories. |
| HMMC 205 | Feature Writing 2 | Feature writing is a practical module that is meant to empower students with skills and professional knowledge about feature writing. Students who will complete this module are expected to be able to demonstrate key skills in feature writing and to be able to write different feature stories. This is a practical module that will equip students with interviewing skills and knowledge. They will gain feature writing skills, allowing them to become good feature writers. Students will pitch their ideas and write individual feature stories and feature leads. |
| HMMC 206 | News Writing II | The module builds up to what students learnt in the introductory module - News Writing I. This module focuses on practical elements of writing hard news stories in various beats including news, politics, Parliament, health, gender, sports, environment and courts. It adopts a practical approach where students will be equipped with advanced skills required to write stories using interview transcripts, statements, press releases/statements, speeches or any other documents or material. The module capacitates students with skills to become independent researchers with a nose for news. |

| HMMC 470 | Strategic communication Practical Project | This module allows students to produce a tangible strategic communication product (as espoused in Education 5.0) which is expected to provide real solutions to community challenges. Products can be a newspaper/magazine production, radio production, television production, online tools etc. |
