Research Interests: Transformative social learning and climate change education, Small scale conservation farming with specialising farmers’ capabilities and water harvesting technologies in particular, Quantitative and Qualitative data analysis

The Department offers pre- and in-service programmes in Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Mathematics and Physics Education which lead to the attainment of the following qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education (Option 1. face-to-face full time or part time. Option 2. open distance and electronic learning: ODeL)
- Graduate Diploma in Education
- Master of Education in Science/Mathematics/Professional Development.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Science Education
- Master of Philosophy
- Doctor of Philosophy
In addition the department is active in community service aimed at improving the quality of science, technology and mathematics education at school level. In this regard it also offers training workshops, seminars and short courses in support of The Curriculum Framework for Primary and Secondary Education 2015-2022 in collaboration with other stakeholders.
