Professor Fainos Mangena

Member of University of Zimbabwe Council

He holds a DPhil (UZ), MA (UZ), BA Dual Hons (UZ). He is from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. He has been involved with UZ Council work from the time he became a council member in 2018. Some of the highlights of his council work include attending council meetings to discuss university business, representing council in Academic  Appointment  Boards, representing council in Staff Disciplinary Committee Meetings among others.

Professor Francis Machingura

He is an Associate Professor (Biblical Studies) and lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe. He is the former chairperson of the Languages and Arts Education Department, Faculty of Education. He is currently the Acting Director of University of Zimbabwe Post-Graduate Centre. He is a specialist in Biblical Studies. His areas of special interest are on the: Interaction of the Bible and Gender, Politics, Health, Inclusivity, Bible and Sexuality in Africa. He has published several books, articles and book chapters.

Professor Jephat Chifamba

Professor Jephat Chifamba (DPhil) is a Professor of Human Physiology and Deputy Dean Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Zimbabwe. He is also the current member of University of Zimbabwe Research and Innovation Committee. He teaches human physiology in the following areas: Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing Science, Rehabilitation, Radiography and Nutrition and Postgraduate Masters in Psychiatry and Surgery. Prof Chifamba is also a visiting Professor at the University of Johannesburg. He is a Special Projects Coordinator in the University Research and Innovation Directorate, a former Chairman of the then Department of Physiology fortwo decades during which he developed a Master’s Program in Physiology. He is board member of Karanda Hospital, international board member of an anti-human trafficking organisation called Love Justice, Board Chair of Otter Foster Home, board member of Jabulani Children’s Home and Chairman of Zimbabwe Without Orphans. He is a prolific researcher in cardiovascular diseases with an excess of 90 publications.

Mr Elisha Moyo

Mr Elisha Moyo is a Senior Legal practitioner and founding partner of Moyo and Jera Legal Practitioners.  He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Degree (LLB) and a Masters in Business Administration degree from the University of Zimbabwe.  He has 32 years experience in various roles in commerce and legal practice, including being General Counsel of a listed Group and Managing Director of one of Zimbabwe’s leading short term insurance companies.  Elisha is a seasoned legal practitioner particularly in the fields of corporate law, tax law, insurance law and banking law.  He is also an experienced corporate governance practitioner and commercial arbitrator.  He currently chairs the Boards of First Mutual Properties Ltd and Nicoz Diamond  Insurance Company. In addition, he is a board member of First Mutual Holdings Ltd, Vice Chairman of the National Biotechnology Authority, a Councillor of the National Manpower Advisory Council and a Councillor of the University of Zimbabwe, where he chairs the Compliance Committee.
