2023 Research, Innovation and Industrialization Week

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities has undertaken numerous research projects and is participating in a number of ongoing projects, which include the 2023 Research, Innovation and Industrialization Week (RIIW) exhibitions. For the 2023 RIIW, the Faculty had a total of 18 exhibitions, including one that was exhibited as part of innovations coming from the Innovation Hub. The exhibitors were from the Departments of History Heritage and Knowledge Systems (HHKS), Language Literature and Culture (LLC) and Creative Media and Communication. The Faculty also had a High-Level Dialogue on the Patenting of Traditional Medicines. Out of these, the Faculty won prizes in three categories. The first category was the staff category where Prof V Mugari and his team made up of Dr K Gotosa, Dr J Tafirenyika and Mr Archieford Mhondera won a prize valued at USD$4000 for their Term Creation Exhibit. They had come first. The second category was the student category where Shannel Kadyamurandu and her colleagues won the prize of US$300 for coming second in the category of student presenters. The other was the category for Faculty prizes where the Faculty of Arts and Humanities came third (3rd place) out of 11 Faculties with a prize money of US$750. Overall, the feedback coming from the tour of the Faculty stand showed that the exhibitions by the Faculty were impressive thereby demonstrating the great potential the Faculty had when it comes to generating great innovations.

2021 Research, Innovation and Industrialization Week

The Faculty of Arts and Humanities had 15 academics who participated in the 2021 Research, Innovation and Industrialization Week through presenting papers and exhibits and more than 5 of them won awards.
