Dr J. Mudare started as a student engineer at Siemens (pvt) limited. His main duties involved the repair and installation of office communication systems and medical equipment. In 2005 he joined the Harare Polytechnic as a lecturer teaching courses like Computer Systems Architecture and Control Systems. During that time he was also an examiner for HEXCO examinations. He then joined the University of Zimbabwe as a teaching assistant in 2008 and was subsequently assigned as a Study Fellow whilst pursuing his studies in China. He rejoined the University’s academic staff in 2016 and is now a senior lecturer in the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He teaches a wide range of Control and Electronic Engineering subjects including Electronic Circuit Design, Analogue Electronics and Control Systems. Currently, he is also the department’s examination officer and a member of the Faculty Quality Assurance Committee. His fields of interest for research include sliding mode control, automation and application of microcontroller based systems.
