IDS library is the only post-graduate library at the UZ, supporting a large and diverse academic and development community, extending even outside the UZ. It contains the largest collection of economic and social development materials in Zimbabwe; resources that cover the scholarship of teaching, learning, research and development.
The library has an e-repository of development research from the Institute of Development Studies (Sussex)[1]. They can be accessed via the UZ library link http://www.uz.ac.zw/library or through the IDS Sussex digitial library link under the Creative Commons Licence. : http://opendocs.ids.ac.uk/opendocs/handle/123456789/924. All the research outputs by IDS since its inception in 1983 are now available in digital form. The library is promoting the advancement of the Open Access initiative which has become one of the major blue prints for UZ library services.
The library through the electronic resources helps researchers to promote productivity. The researchers can integrate the e-resources into their proposals, articles and reports regardless of their location.
